Comprehensive Support Program Guide

Category International Conference Domestic Conference
Target Associations organizations, academic societies, institutions, or corporations that host domestic or international conventions in Daejeon
International conferences based on UIA, ICCA, or the International Conference Industry Promotion Act Conference held for more than two days with over 300 Korean participants
Method Cash settlement will be made after the completion of the event

In-kind support is also available upon consultation with the person in charge, if necessary

Items Fees for venue rental, luncheons/banquets, PR material production, particiant accommodation, shuttle services, and more.
Conditions for Support
  • The event website and promotional materials must clearly indicate sponsorship by the Daejeon Tourism Organization or Daejeon Metropolitan City and display their logo
  • Result report and required documents must be submitted within 30 days of the event’s completion
  • At least on member of the Daejeon-Chungcheong MICE Alliance must be utilized

Additional support is provided for mid-large scale international conferences that are highly relevant to Daejeon Metropolitan City’s policies or regional strategic industries, or have significant economic ripple effects

Supporting Process
  1. Submission of Application Submit the application form at least 30 days before the event recommended
  2. Confirmation & Notification of Subvention Support approval is determined through an internal review by the Daejeon Tourism Organization.
  3. Event Operation -
  4. Submission of Result Report Submit result report (within 30 days of event completion)
  5. Payment of Subvention Subvention will be paid within one month after the result report is received

Application are accepted year-round
An official letter of application must be submitted under the name of the head of the institution

Support by Stage
    1. Formation of a Dedicated Team for International Conference Bidding
      • Support for personnel and activities dedicated to securing international conferences.
    2. Support for Conference Committee Members' Business Trips
      • Support for up to two committee members for bidding marketing activities.
    3. Strategic Proposal and Presentation Material Development
      • Assistance in creating bidding proposals and presentation materials for securing conferences in Daejeon.
      • Support for letters of endorsement from the Mayor of Daejeon, the President of the Daejeon Tourism Organization, and the President of the Korea Tourism Organization.
    4. Participation in Overseas Assemblies and Intensive Bidding Marketing
      • Operation of a Daejeon promotional booth and distribution of promotional leaflets and souvenirs.
      • Hosting meetings with key decision-makers.
    5. Support for Site Inspections by Overseas Committees
      • Partial support for costs related to site inspections in Daejeon, such as accommodation, airfare, and local expenses.
    6. Leveraging Daejeon’s Global Network for Bidding Support
      • Active use of networks such as the Global Science Convention Alliance (six member cities), the Korea Tourism Organization, and KOTRA branches.
    1. Promotion of the Upcoming Daejeon Conference at the Previous Event
      • Operation of a promotional booth and implementation of promotional activities.
      • Support for the production of promotional souvenirs and printed materials.
    2. Support for Domestic and International Promotional Activities
      • Media and SNS Promotion: To attract public interest and participation.
      • Professional Journal Advertising: Targeting experts through ads in specialized academic journals.
    1. Support for Conference Operational Budget
      • Assistance with costs such as: venue rental fees, participant accommodation, transportation costs, reception/banquet costs, promotional material production costs
    2. Assistance with Venue and Facility Arrangements
      • Support for venue allocation and negotiation through DCC direct management
      • Information and arrangement support for cultural performances
      • Utilization of the Daejeon-Chungcheong MICE Alliance for consultations and discounted services.
    3. Support for Korean Cultural Experience Booths
      • Operation of promotional booths offering: Hanbok Experience, Korean traditional souvenirs, Daejeon souvenirs, Daejeon promotional materials
    4. Recruitment of MICE Event Staff through the MICE Crew Program
      • Assistance in recruiting event staff from the Daejeon Tourism Organization's MICE Crew pool
      • Posting recruitment announcements for various MICE events
    5. Provision of Promotional and Tourist Information Materials
      • upply of materials including: Daejeon Tourist Guides, City Tour Guides
      • Information on discounts at major stores near DCC and recommended restaurant maps
Diverse Support Programs
  1. Support for Korean Cultural Experience Booths
    • Support for running booths with Korean traditional souvenirs, hanbok experiences, etc.
    • Assistance in setting up and managing various experience booths tailored to the event program and venue.
  2. Tourist Program Support for MICE Participants
    • Planning and operating tourist programs for participants visiting Daejeon as a MICE destination.
  3. Cooperation for Recruiting MICE Event Staff
    • Assistance with recruitment by utilizing the Daejeon Tourism Organization's MICE Crew personnel pool.
    • Posting recruitment announcements for MICE event staff.
  4. Provision of Promotional Materials
    • Various tourist information materials, including Daejeon tourist guides, Daejeon maps, Korea tourist guides, DCC guidebooks, and restaurant maps.
  5. Promotion of Events Using Daejeon Tourism Organization Channels
    • Event promotion through Daejeon Tourism Organization’s blog and MICE Crew channels
    • Distribution of Daejeon and Korea tourism guides, maps, and related information.
